The items below are ones we recommend very frequently to our clients (and everyone else!).
Setting up your living, work or workout space with the right tools helps extend the benefits of physical therapy, massage and other wellness practices beyond the confines of an appointment slot and into your every day life.

RAD makes a huge range of myofascial release (or fascia release) products from balls to foam rollers, sticks, and specialized gadgets for the face, abdomen and spine.
What's more, they are incredibly durable. We have used them in the clinic and in teaching for over 10 years.
Vivobarefoot is one of the oldest companies in the barefoot or minimalist shoe space. Since they have been around for a while, they have a larger range of styles and options than most other shoe brands in this space.
They offer a lot of variety -- from trail shoes to dress shoes to kid's shoes, sure to match your needs.
Standing just 1-3 more hours per day (does not have to be all day!) improves bone health, cardiovascular capacity, mental focus, and can decrease hip, low back and neck discomfort.
When shopping for a sit to stand desk, we recommend looking for:
- Electric desk that goes up / down with the push of a button
- Capacity for pre-set heights, so you can easily transition between sitting + standing

To poop, our ancestors most likely simply squatted low.
The squat position helps empty the bowels completely, relax the pelvic floor, the diaphram and the muscles of the hip and low back.
One of the simplest, healthiest daily lifestyle shifts we recommend is pooping in a squat position (Feet elevated).

These gadgets are also extremely helpful for anyone who spends a lot of time on a computer.
Myofascial release and foam rolling should not cause you more pain!
Foam rolling should feel "interesting" and fruitful. Not torturous.
To that end, we generally recommend extra soft foam rollers such as this one:
This gadget is uniquely awesome for hitting hard to reach tight muscles in your upper back (and all over).
Keep it from collecting dust by hanging it in a visible place near your couch or desk, or wherever you spend time.
